The Train-Sea-Coast GPA is an
active inter-agency collaboration between the UNESCO-IHE Institute
for Water Education, the European Union ACP Water Facility, the UN
Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Seas
(DOALOS), the United Nations Development Programme
(UNDP), the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the United
Nations Environment Programme - Global Programme of Action
(UNEP/GPA).
We believe that empowering
professionals at the local level is a fundamental component of
sustainable development. Until Aug 2009 we trained
over 1.800 experts from 67 countries in different world regions.
We also trained 55 local, regional and international
instructors.
Our collaborative effort in
offering training to municipal wastewater managers aims at
improving sanitary services and thus a cleaner and healthier
environment that provides livelihoods for coastal
populations.
You are invited to explore this
partnership, refresh your knowledge in the management
tutorial and the compendium
of technologies or download documents, presentations and software
tools in our library.
We are
committed to deliver cost-effective and
demand-driven training to municipalities in a growing number of
countries, and thereby making a contribution to increase
people's access to sanitation and to reduce the discharge of
untreated wastewater into the environment.
