Proposed Workplan for 2008

Following the outcomes from the fourth round of Regional Working Group Meetings and
suggestions for future activities, the revised project workplan for the Biodiversity, Ecosystem,
Fisheries, Investment, and Pollution Components for 2008 and onwards are attached
herewith.

New activities proposed by the RWGs are shown at the bottom of each component's
workplan.

Subject to the availability of project budget, the proposed new activities for the RSTP to
consider are listed below:

POLLUTION COMPONENT:
· Capacity building on analysis of nutrients, metals, and organics and
phytotoxins
· Experience exchange with other LMEs

BIODIVERSITY COMPONENT:
· Technical training for conservation management
· Assessment of management effectiveness of reserves
· Genetic diversity in shrimp population for re-stocking

ECOSYSTEM COMPONENT:
· CPR survey #2
· Primary productivity estimation with respect to carrying capacity

INVESTMENT COMPONENT:
· Small Grants Programme 2008
· Political and social acceptance of management actions (feasibility studies)
· Technical workshop on data information management

All components suggested some SAP demonstration activities to be carried out from 2008 to
2009. These are not considered new activities, as they are already included in the Project
Implementation Plan, and are listed in the workplans. The reader may refer to each
component's 4th RWG Meeting report for details on these suggested activities.

The RSTP is requested to review the workplan, suggest changes, and submit the 2008
Workplan to the Project Steering Committee for approval at its fourth meeting.
