Regional collaboration

Tri-national Sea Turtle Corridor
  • Largest aggregation of nesting green turtles and significant nesting populations of hawksbills in the ASEAN region.
  • Extensive and highly productive mangrove forests, seagrass beds and coral reefs.
  • Increasingly subjected to serious anthropogenic threats such as destructive fishing, overfishing, siltation and poorly planned coastal development.

  • Intends to extend the jurisdiction of the West Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC) to East Asia, i.e. Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam, for highly migratory oceanic fish stocks
