Task 1.2. Accomplishment detailed mapping in scale 1:1000 of the inlet and outlet points, including inlet-outlet channels for the project areas of Belene Island

The mapping (survey + processing and finalizing) has been done simultaneously for both areas in the following periods:

Four inlet-outlet facilities are envisaged for design in the area of the protected wetland – points F, D, E and A of the Danube River waterside.
The operating geodetic basis:
The part of the network concerning the present task is connected with four inlet-outlet facilities envisaged for design.
It consists from 15 points. They are stabilized with lasting signs from polyamide concrete with subterranean center of the German company INTERMAK.
They are selected at the comparatively protected and visible areas in order to their long-term using.
They are distributed in pairs in distance 200 – 300 m through approximately 1,5 km along the inland dike westward of the zone as well as three triads around the inlet-outlet places.
The part of the network concerning the present task is connected with four inlet-outlet facilities envisaged for design– points F, D, E and A of the Danube River waterside.
Every area from the inlet-outlet facilities is assured with a few points from the Secondary geodetic CONTROL NETWORK as follows:
F – with points 1 and 2
D and E – with points 12, 13, and 14
A – with points 10 and 11
All situational and terrain elements, dike and channel branches are mapped with consistency of the points for scale 1:1000. The following drawings are prepared:
F – sheet No 1 (beginning of 5 km area with width 100 m)
D – sheet No 9Е – sheet No 10
A – sheet No 8 (end of 5 km area with width 100 m)
2. Review and specifying the methodology and approach for task implementation
The mapping of these areas is carried out by geodetic total stations (TS) with angular accuracy 10¢¢ and length 2mm+2ppm х D (4mm/1km), polar method. This decision is a result from the presence of afforesting in these areas; otherwise difficulties will arise using GPS receivers in real time (visibility to at least 5 satellites at the same time is required for this regime).
Two or three points are definite at open places using GPS for every of these areas and proceeding from them the polar mapping method is realized using TS. The method guarantees the precision of the detailed points in connection with outlet, situation and high no more that 1-2 cm.
Some parameters of the prepared area maps:
The zone maps are draw up as standard mapping sheets for scale 1:1000 with measurements 80 х 50 cm and standard framed and unframed forming.
