In line with the topic of the World Water Week and other major activities of UN-Water in 2014, UN-Water convened its fifth annual UN-Water Stakeholder Dialogue at World Water Week on 3 September 2014, implemented by UNW-DPC and UNW-DPAC. Co-conveners of the session were:

  • The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)
  • The German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB)
  • Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)

The well-attended session, which was webcast live, included high-level representatives from Germany and other Member States, civil society, international organizations and other major relevant stakeholders who discussed how to best capture the interlinkages between water and other sectors such as energy and food/agriculture.

Using the UN-Water Technical Advice 'A Post-2015 Global Goal for Water' as a point of departure, an open debate with the audience enriched the discussion.
