UN-Water Capacity Development Survey (2007-08)
The objective of the survey was to provide a first snapshot overview of ongoing capacity development activities implemented by UN-Water members and partners, as well as to identify their future plans and requirements for support and suggestions for capacity development focus within the UN-Water mechanism.
This document presents the outcomes of the first survey and the results of the analysis, presenting information about types of capacity development undertaken, the framework under which they have been carried out, as well as the target groups and scale-level of capacity development activities. It also provides an insight into the expectations of some UN-Water members and partners regarding future water-related capacity development projects including challenges, needs and thematic priorities.
E-learning has been recognized as an effective and important tool for capacity development by the different members and partners of UN-Water. UNW-AIS has created this learning centre, which offers a pool of learning materials and services from UN-Water and its member and partner organizations. It mainly targets water professionals and institutions involved in training development and delivery as well as training participants. The content is structured along the UN-Water thematic focus areas.
