Euphrates-Tigris Initiative for Cooperation (ETIC)

The Euphrates-Tigris Initiative for Cooperation (ETIC) is a Track 2, academic initiative founded in 2005 by scholars from Iraq, Syria, Turkey and the USA . Its principal aim is to provide opportunities to enhance the dialogue and mutual understanding among the riparians of the Euphrates-Tigris System. ETIC is dedicated to the improvement of the living conditions of the people in rural and urban areas in the Euphrates Tigris region, strengthening cooperation and sustainable development in harmony with nature using scientific means, advocacy, research and education. SIWI has a staff member (Jakob Granit) on the ETIC advisory committee
