UN-Water at African Water Association (AfWA) congress

Introduction

Established with the objective to achieve drinking water coverage across the continent through capacity development, the African Water Association (AfWA) is a professional association operating in the areas of drinking water, sanitation and environment in Africa.

Since 2010, UNW-DPC has been coordinating UN-Water’s presence at the biennial AfWA Congress, with a UN-Water booth and seminar.

During the 17th African Waster Association Congress to be held in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, UNW-DPC will once again coordinate a UN-Water seminar, together with UN-Habitat. The topic of the session is “Non-Revenue Water: Strategies for Capacity-Building for Water and Sanitation Utilities”. In addition, the UNW-DPC will organize a UN-Water information booth. The overall topic of the AfWA 2014 congress is “Resources Mobilization and Governance in the Water and Sanitation Sector.”

This page will provide learning materials in preparation for the event and on the topic of non-revenue water, and subsequently be updated with the latest news and relevant information.
